"Wishes on a Neon Sign" CD

“Wishes on a Neon Sign” finds Abbie Gardner shining bright!  With a stellar cast of backing musicians behind her, Abbie comes armed with her passionate vocals and signature dobro style to give us a emotional collection of songs that are soulful, sultry and sensational!  These aren’t maudlin “cry in your beer” songs about love and heartbreak, Abbie uses her gifts to explore the deeper feelings behind complicated relationships and offers up hope and redemption for us all.

-Ron Olesko, Sing Out WFDU

Abbie Gardner excels at songs that describe the roller coaster of love. The songs on Wishes on a Neon Sign have a country style and charm. When she starts mixing in other genres, such as the Samba tempo on "Burn Me Down," we get a glimpse into her versatility. Abbie's soaring vocals on "Bad Leaver" and the accompanying heartache-laden melody show her at the height of her singer/songwriter power. Abbie Gardner cuts a wide swath through the singer/songwriter realm, leaving a trail of satisfied listeners.

-Richard Cuccaro, Acoustic LIVE! in NYC

Abbie Gardner has a voice to warm the winter night and a smile to melt the coldest heart. On her new solo album, she reminds us that she's not only a first-rate Dobro player, but a songwriter to be reckoned with, with tunes that range from the ebullient to the sultry to the heartbreaking.

-John Platt, WFUV

Love the new CD, "Wishes On A Neon Sign." Your singing, playing and collaborative songwriting throughout are exceptional. I'm sure Claire is proud of your interpretation of "Once The Teardrops Start To Fall," the one cover on the release, and your descriptive of David Olney is spot-on! "Copper Ponies"...gives me the shivers, a great closing #!

-Troy Tyree, Jukebox of Americana, WCUW

Hope - CD

This 2011 CD features Abbie's versatile voice backed by 3 types of slide guitar (dobro, lap steel, and National bottleneck) and a band comprised of not only her father, Herb Gardner (piano), but also her sister, Sarah Gardner, on organ.  Ben Wittman (the drummer on Red Molly's James) locks in with upright bassist Craig Akin, who is featured on the first instrumental Abbie has ever recorded (a bass and dobro duet).  The songs range from heartache to hope, from gritty lap steel to singing cellos, courtesy of Emily Hope Price.

"I feel like the songs revolve around Hope, both the song and the idea.  Rather than having all hopeful songs, this CD reflects the glimmer of hope we all look for when in the midst of darkness." -Abbie Gardner, talking about her CD Hope.

JOYFUL NOISE EP - 3 song EP w/Jesse Terry

The three songs—“Joyful Noise,” “River Carry Me,” and “Someday”—were self released in May 2016 on Noisetrade, iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.  Jesse Terry and Abbie Gardner released the songs to promote their June 2016 Joyful Noise Tour.

Honey On My Grave - CD

Released in 2006, "Honey On My Grave" is Abbie's first full-length solo CD.  It's a collection of mostly original songs that span several genres, from jazz to blues, country to bluegrass and folk/pop. Several songs were recorded live in-studio, though Abbie plays both guitar and Dobro on track 3 (Ain't Misbehavin). Pat Wictor is featured in a live duet on the song, "You Got to Move".  This CD was recorded after only playing Dobro for 2 years, showing the early side of Abbie's development as a solo artist.
